Chrysanthi Badeka is a choreographer, filmmaker, editor, videodance trainer and Artistic Director of MØZ. She graduated from the Professional School of Dance Rallou Manou (2004, Athens) and continued her postgraduate studies (M.F.A in Dance) at Tisch School of the Arts - NYU (2005, New York) with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation and New York University with a major in choreography for camera. After returning to Greece and for 10 consecutive years, she dedicated herself to the promotion and development of the art of videodance through the ATHENS VIDEO DANCE PROJECT (2010-2020).
As a creator, pushing the boundaries of choreography, her intermediary practice combines movement with technology, nature and science. Her works are developed on or off the theatre stage, on the cinema screen, on monitors or even in synthetic environments (Virtual Reality). As an artist, she has received grants from the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, the NEON Foundation, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and the SIAE Foundation (in collaboration with the Italian institution COORPI), and has collaborated with Stavros Niarchos Foundation, Greek National Opera, Onassis Stegi and other artistic institutions.
She has been a member of the videodance award committee for the DAN.CIN.FEST (France), International Contest La Danza in 1 minuto / COORPY (Italy) and International Bucharest Dance Film Festival (Romania). She has edited dance films for conferences and festivals such as: L'ALTERNATIVA FILM FESTIVAL (Spain), OFF EUROPA (Germany), SCREENDANCE: PRACTICE & THEORY / University of IUAV (Italy), LOIKKA FESTIVAL (Finland), FESTIVAL DE VIDEDANZA DE PALMA, TANZRAUSCHEN International Dance on Screen Festival (Germany) and others.
