RAFAELA TSOBANOUDI
Rafaela Tsobanoudi was born in Serres, Greece in 1997. She graduated with honours from the drama school of National Theater of Northern Greece (2020) and the department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia (2022, specialisation: violoncello and contemporary music/teaching methods). She works as an actress, musician and performer. Her basic interests are vocal research and multiple art combination, as a tool to perform. Her relationship with dance started from her childhood and continues till today (contemporary dance/ballet/circus). In 2022 she created ‘And then I knew ’twas wind’, as a thesis project in University of Macedonia. It is a choreographic research, where - by decoding the structural elements of the musical score into a kinetic vocabulary- she created a new dance score inspired by the musical score of T. Takemitsu’s ‘And then I knew ’twas wind’. She recently participated in the performance 'Mystery 11MA' by R. Castellucci as well as in the theatrical performance 'Swallow' directed by H. Thomos. She has also taken part in site specific projects such as 'Memory' in the Ancient city of Aiani and 'Scoring Sites’ in Thessaloniki. She is a member of the puppet theater group 'kokoumouklo', the theater group 'dot ensemble' and the musical group 'Eli and the portraits'. She has attended seminars in theater direction, clown acting, physical theater, music performance, singing, etc.
