ADONIS VAIS

Adonis Vais was born in Athens, Greece in 1984. His passion for music moved him since childhood. First time he attended a dance class was at the age of 17. In 2006 he got admitted at the Greek State School of Dance where he graduated in 2009, awarded with the Koula Pratsika Foundation Scholarship. During his studies he danced for the Hellenic Dance Company and the choreographer Valasia Simeonidou. He debuted professionaly as a performer in ''NOWHERE'' by Dimitris Papaioannou and the Greek National Theater. He then collaborated with choreographers Konstantinos Rigos-Oktana Dance Theater, Jukstapoz / Christine Gouzelis & Paul Blackman, Elena Christodoulidou and Machi Dimitriadou Lindahl. At the end of 2010 he moved to the Netherlands where he worked for Dorit Weintal – Dansmakers Amsterdam, to continue later in Berlin, as a member of the cie.Toula Limnaios for the year 2011. From 2012 until 2019 he was creating, touring and performing internationally as a freelance artist with the Sasha Waltz & Guests Company.

In 2015 he performed ''Untitled'' (Go-go Dancing Platform) by Felix Gonzales Torres at the Schwules Museum Berlin, and in 2020 ''Bodies & Structure'' by Alexandra Waierstall at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau. Since 2020 he is based in Athens, collaborating with artists Christos Papadopoulos, Agni Papadeli Rossetou, Tzeni Argyriou, Alexis Fousekis, Thomas Moschopoulos, Poka Yio and Iria Vrettou.

Since 2017 he has created choreographic works, performances and installations for the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Ufer Studios Berlin, Fabrik Potsdam, Athens Pride Festival, Theaternatur Festival and the Athens Video Dance Project.

Ο Αντώνης Βαής είναι γεννημένος στην Αθήνα το 1984. Η αγάπη του για την μουσική τον κάνει να χορεύει από πολύ νεαρή ηλικία. Συμμετείχε πρώτη φορά σε μάθημα χορού στην ηλικία των 17. Το 2006 εισάγετε στην Κρατική Σχολή Ορχηστικής Τέχνης και αποφοιτά το 2009 βραβευμένος με την υποτροφία του Ιδρύματος Κούλα Πράτσικα. Χορεύει επαγγελματικά πρώτη φορά στο «ΠΟΥΘΕΝΑ» του Δημήτρη Παπαϊωάννου στην κεντρική σκηνή του Εθνικού Θεάτρου. Συνεχίζει σε συνεργασίες με τον Κωνσταντίνο Ρήγο και το Χοροθέατρο Οκτάνα, τους Jukstapoz Χριστίνα Γουζέλη & Paul Blackman, την Έλενα Χριστοδουλίδου και την Μάχη Δημητριάδου Lindahl. Στο τέλος του 2010 χορεύει για την Dorit Weintal και το Dansmakers Amsterdam για να συνεχίσει έπειτα στο Βερολίνο ως μέλος της cie. Toula Limnaios για το 2011. Από το 2012 έως το 2019 συνδημιούργησε και χόρεψε διεθνώς με την ομάδα Sasha Waltz & Guests.

Από το 2020 βάση του είναι η Αθήνα και συνεργάζεται με καλλιτέχνιδες/ες όπως: Χρήστος Παπαδόπουλος, Αγνή Παπαδέλη Ρωσσέτου, Τζένη Αργυρίου, Αλέξης Φουσέκης, Θωμάς Μοσχόπουλος, Poka Yio και Ίρια Βρεττού.

Από το 2017 έχει δημιουργήσει χορογραφικά έργα, performances και εγκαταστάσεις για το Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών & Επιδαύρου, τα Ufer Studios Berlin, το Fabrik Potsdam, το Athens Pride Festival, το Theaternatur Festival και το Athens Video Dance Project.
